Tough spot. I won't pay, the principle of not blackmailing the public seems more important to me than that very cute rabbit's life.

I'm not sure if Snopes is right on this or not.

In his legality section, he argues that because he will really eat the rabbit, it's not fraud. It seems that if Snopes is right, and it's not true, he is committing fraud, and someone should report him to the authorities.
